แฮนด์เสือหมอบ ๒๗๐ กรัม

Let talk a bit about the Surly Long Haul Trucker of Woojong Kim, my Korean friend who travelled more than 5 years long around the world... 

Woojong Kim undoubtedly is a man with endurance who has great ambition to conquer the world, fighting the enemy hard not by any sort of weapon but only with his accumulated strength and limitless patient.  

A long time ago I warm-showers hosted him just one night in Hang Chat and since then we'd become like brothers related to the same believe in cycling.  Unsurprisingly, his Long-Haul-Trucker Surly bike was very interesting to me and I would love to follow the way he managed his vehicle successfully.

Firstly let's have a look at his bike. I do not doubt that Surly is one of the great bicycles being used by many 'round-the-world cyclists.  I wish I could buy a complete one right away.  But, being hapless for years, this old man certainly has not enough dough to afford anything so dear like that. How can I do?

ตกลงผมจะต้องสร้างจักรยานอีกคันนึง (โดยใช้เงินคืนรายปีจากประกันชีวิตและวิธีการซื้ออุปกรณ์ผ่อนส่ง) หลังจากศึกษาเรื่องการซ่อมจักรยานมาได้เกือบ ๒ ปี ตอนนี้ผมประกอบจักรยานเองได้แล้ว

เตรียมไว้สู้กับ headwind และ steep hills ผมตั้งใจว่าจักรยานสำหรับ final trip จะต้องมีน้ำหนักเบาแค่เพียงตัวเลขหลักเดียว และใช้แฮนด์เสือหมอบ (drop bar) เพื่อให้เปลี่ยนรูปแบบการจับได้หลายแบบ (เคยเห็นผลแล้วกับการเดินทางกับเจ้าอามุย)  วันนี้ช่างเหอะหยิบเอาแฮนด์เก่าของเจ้าอามุยที่ยังคงเก็บไว้ได้ออกมา ลองวัดดูหน่อยว่าหลังจาก ๔๐ ปีที่โตขึ้น เจ้า handle bar จะยังคงพอใช้ได้กับช่วงใหล่ที่กว้างขึ้นหรือไม่?  อาจจะดูแคบไปนิด แต่คิดว่าใช้ได้ครับ...

ทีนี้มาลองชั่งดูว่าหนักแค่ไหน?  ๒๗๐ กรัมเองครับ น้ำหนักพอ ๆ กับแฮนด์ดี ๆ ที่มีขายในเว็บ

 

ใช้ตัวนี้แหละ แต่ว่า....ผมยังต้องหาเฟรมใหม่ที่น้ำหนักเบา ๆ มาเข้าคู่กัน!
